Walk your dog for a good cause at Strut Your Mutt in Tower Grove Park.
Nearly 5,500 dogs and cats are killed every day in America’s animal shelters. Best Friends Animal Society and Stray Rescue want to reduce that number to zero. Strut Your Mutt is a leisurely fundraising dog walk, or a 5K run with (or without) your dog, followed by a doggie-themed festival.
Fun-filled activities for both animals and humans make up the Strut Your Mutt festival, including doggie yoga, pet portraits, music, contests, food, refreshments and more.
This year’s St. Louis Strut Your Mutt takes place in Tower Grove Park on Saturday, September 23 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The registration fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children.
Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt events take place annually in cities across the country to raise money for homeless pets. Participants can choose to raise money for Best Friends or for one of hundreds of participating shelters like St. Louis Stray Rescue or any other animal welfare group.
Whichever animal protection organization participants choose to support keeps every dollar raised from Strut Your Mutt.
The 2016 Strut Your Mutt events across the country raised more than $2.6 million — nearly $1.9 of which went straight to 294 participating Best Friends No More Homeless Pets Network partners (shelters, rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations).
